Role Overview

The Outside Sales Representative serves as an Independent Sales Agent responsible for promoting, marketing, and selling The Social Hive’s services to prospective clients.

This is a commission-only, 1099 contractor role designed for driven, relationship-focused individuals who value flexibility, independence, and long-term earning potential—without being responsible for service delivery.

Scope of Work

As an Independent Sales Agent, you will:

• Prospect and refer new clients to The Social Hive

• Present approved services, pricing, and messaging

• Build and maintain client relationships through networking, outreach, referrals, and in-person meetings

• Assist with client onboarding and relationship handoff as assigned

• Represent The Social Hive professionally, ethically, and accurately

Agents do not have authority to modify pricing, create guarantees, or bind the company to contracts without written approval, as outlined in the January 15 Agent Agreement.

Services You’ll Be Selling

• Social media management

• Content creation and strategy

• Branding and graphic design

• Digital marketing and website services

• Monthly marketing retainers

(You sell. The Social Hive delivers.)

Compensation

• Commission-only compensation

• 30% commission on gross revenue collected from clients you directly source and close, per the January 15 Agent Agreement

• Commission continues on a recurring monthly basis for as long as the client remains active and paying and you continue to support the client relationship

• Commission is calculated only on payments actually received

• Refunds, chargebacks, or non-payment void commissions

• Commission payments are issued according to the agreed schedule (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly)

Independent Contractor Status

This role is a 1099 independent contractor position, not employment.

​

Agents are responsible for:

• All federal, state, and self-employment taxes

• Insurance and business-related expenses

• No wages, benefits, or reimbursements are implied, as outlined in the January 15 Agent Agreement

Client Ownership & Confidentiality

• All clients, leads, pricing, systems, and materials remain the sole property of The Social Hive

• Client lists, pricing, internal processes, and marketing strategies must remain confidential

• Confidentiality obligations survive termination

• Use of company materials or client data after termination is prohibited, per the January 15 Agent Agreement

Term & Termination

• This role continues until terminated by either party

• Either party may terminate with 7 days written notice

• Immediate termination may occur for misconduct or misrepresentation

• Any outstanding earned commissions on collected revenue will be paid in accordance with the Agent Agreement

Ideal Candidate

• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Sales, marketing, or small business experience preferred

• Comfortable with commission-based compensation

• Professional, ethical, and community-minded

• Familiarity with local businesses is a plus
